Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in developing and maintaining distributed systems.
Experience in projects with machine learning.
Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to guide engineering teams in changing environments.

In this role, you will lead and manage a team to transform data analysis with Artificial Intelligence (AI).Thousands of years of effort are applied every year to authoring and analyzing data across all of Google. You will be developing tools, components, and applications in service with exposure to customers and partners and with the potential to make a difference in how decisions and insights are made at Google.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities

Drive innovation at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and data engineering through exploration.
Shape and enhance the AI for SQL roadmap for impact.
Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on developing AI use cases for the Core data team.
Attract and develop talent within the team. Collaborate with partner teams and stakeholders to gain insights into their needs
Advise the Core Data AI steering committees on wins, learning, and opportunities within the AI for SQL space. Research and learn about AI innovations happening within and outside Google.
