Software Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced software Engineer to:



work within a pod (cross-functional team) responsible for software delivery of a large complex platform, used by a diverse global userbase to support the banks Non-Financial Risk framework

develop solutions with resiliency and sustainability in mind, ensuring our platform meets the growing needs of business

share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and contribute to our engineering culture and internal communities

ensure the security, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements

write, maintain, and improve technical documentation, including system architectures, process flows, environment configurations and support procedures ensuring clarity and accessibility for other team members

Your team

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You’ll be working in the GCRG Non-Financial Risk team focusing on development and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Measurement System (ERMS) platform. ERMS is an integrated, global, enterprise-wide tool for managing audit and operational risk, including Issues, Audits, Controls, Events, Risk Assessments and Policies.

Your expertise

Your expertise

broad technical skillset including working knowledge of Java, Apache web server & Tomcat, Kafka

deep knowledge of Oracle databases and experience with PL/SQL, MongoDB knowledge a plus

strong oral and written communication in English, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

experience working with Linux operating systems, including experience in shell scripting

excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently analyse and address issues in time sensitive situations

experience and/or understanding of Agile delivery model and key concepts

ideally 5+ years of experience in a similar position, with prior experience and product knowledge of MetricStream Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) application a strong advantage

involvement in the development and integration of 3rd party platforms, and driving resolutions with external vendor teams on business-critical issues
