QA Engineer Web & API

Location: Navi Mumbai (Vashi)

Role Summary

QA for a data-intensive application spanning Web UI and backend services. Own end-to-end qualityfunctional, regression, data validation, and basic performancefor APIs, UI workflows, and database layers. The role blends hands-on testing, light automation, Linux ops, and team leadership to ship reliable releases at scale.

What Youll Do

• Define strategy and write test cases for Web UI and REST APIs (functional, negative, integration, regression).
• Build and maintain Postman collections (preferred) and run via Newman in CI.
• Drive data-centric testing: seed data, validate business rules with SQL, reconcile API/UI output with MySQL.
• Own non-prod Linux environments: package installs, services/logs, basic networking, CLI debugging.
• Use Docker/docker-compose to spin up app stacks, manage env vars, volumes, and networks for reproducible tests.
• Add focused automation where it pays off (pytest/requests or equivalent), and wire smoke suites into CI.
• Partner with Product/Eng on triage, risk, entry/exit criteria, and quality metrics.
• (Preferred domain) Validate LI/LBS/IPDR featuresrecord correctness, retention, export formats, and evidentiary integrity.

Must-Have Qualifications

Strong Web & API testing (auth flows, pagination, idempotency, rate limits, error codes).

• Linux (mandatory): services, logs, permissions, networking basics, scripting comfort.
• Database testing: solid SQL (joins, aggregates), test data design; MySQL preferred.
• Docker: build/run images, docker-compose basics for multi-service stacks.
• Postman (preferred): environments, variables, pre/post scripts, collection runners.
• Tooling: Git, Jira (or similar), CI basics (Jenkins/GitLab CI).

Clear defect writing, evidence capture, and stakeholder communication.
