Software Engineer in Test

About This Role:

We are expanding our engineering capability in India, and this QA Automation Engineer will be an embedded member of the LiveSite team, working closely with offshore and US-based engineers. This role is not part of a separate QA function. Instead, you will operate within the engineering team, contributing to quality, automation, and production stability across our platform. You will partner with backend and frontend engineers to strengthen regression coverage, proactively identify risk, and improve automation maturity across Angular, Spring Boot, and messaging-based systems.

The role requires active collaboration with US counterparts during defined morning overlap hours for triage, release validation, and cross-team coordination.

We are looking for someone who views quality as a shared engineering responsibility and takes ownership of improving it.

What Youll Do:

Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium and/or Playwright

Develop API automation for Spring Boot microservices

Collaborate directly with engineers to identify risk areas and improve test coverage

Reproduce and analyze production issues to strengthen regression and prevent recurrence

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

Participate in backlog refinement and release planning to ensure testability and clarity

Partner with US engineers during overlap hours for issue triage and release coordination

Continuously improve automation reliability, performance, and maintainability

Required Skills & Experience:

3+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer / SDET

Strong programming skills in Java (preferred) or similar language

Hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright

Experience with API automation (RestAssured, Postman, or similar)

Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Strong understanding of automation design principles and testing best practices

Experience working in Agile/Kanban environments

Ability to troubleshoot issues across distributed systems

Strong collaboration and communication skills across geographies

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice to Have:

Experience working within microservices-based architectures

Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

Exposure to performance or reliability testing

Experience improving or modernizing automation frameworks
