Software Engineer in Test

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Framework Architecture

Design, architect, and evolve automation frameworks across backend, web, and distributed

systems.

Lead POCs for new tools, frameworks, and processes in Automation, API, Performance, and

Quality Engineering.

Drive standardization of automation patterns, coding best practices, and review mechanisms

across squads.

Build scalable, maintainable test suites that integrate deeply with product architecture and

CI/CD pipelines.

Quality Strategy & Execution

Own quality strategy for features, releases, and entire problem domains.

Define test plans covering functional, integration, E2E, regression, API, performance, and

reliability testing.

Create and maintain KPI dashboards for performance and quality metrics.

Ensure high-signal automation with the right depth, coverage, and cost-benefit balance.

Operational Excellence

Build CI/CD pipelines for automation frameworks; ensure reliable execution in cloud

environments (GCP/AWS).

Lead incident analysis and improve the systems observability and debugging workflows.

Influence product and engineering design through a strong quality lens.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Product, Engineering, CQA, and AI/ML teams to drive bug-free, predictable

releases.

Translate complex product and AI behaviour into testable hypotheses and validation

strategies.

Communicate trade-offs, risks, and technical decisions effectively to both engineers and

leadership.

Leadership & Mentorship

Lead test engineering efforts across squads; break down complex problems for junior

engineers.

Mentor SDETs and developers in automation, testing philosophy, and design for testability.

Drive technical reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering-wide testing culture

improvements.

Represent Arintra externally talks, meetups, blogs, tech evangelism (optional but valued).

Requirements:

9+ years total experience with 7+ years in Automation (Backend + Web).

Strong proficiency in Java and one or more languages.

Deep experience building test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO,

Cucumber, Appium, custom).

Solid experience with API testing using Postman, RestAssured, GraphQL, or equivalent.

Experience working with GCP or AWS in distributed environments.

Strong experience with messaging queues RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.

Strong knowledge of build tools Maven, Gradle.

Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals,DS/Algorithms/Patterns.

Proven ability to drive automation architecture and independently own test strategy.
