As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking – Architecture & Engineering team, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.  You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. Job responsibilities 

  • Executes creative software solutions, designs, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Advanced experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST services, TDD, BDD, React and Kubernetes
  • Proven experience as a senior software engineer or architect, with a focus on Java, cloud technologies, and full-stack development.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Expertise in front-end and back-end development, including frameworks like Spring, Angular, React, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in utilizing tools for monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting, including Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, or equivalent.
