Job Description

Best Buy India is seeking a Software Engineer II to play a key role in delivering software products for Best Buys Care 2.0 - Chat/Voice Experience team. You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product teams vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. You will work on a team of talented software engineering professionals, leading by example, and mentoring others. All of this will be done by embracing inclusive behaviors, working through ambiguity, demonstrating a strong attention to detail, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.


Team Overview:

The Care 2.0 - Chat/Voice Experience team This team consists of highly skilled technical teams accountable for facilitating Best Buy's omni-channel communication. The team collaborates with operations, Experience Design (XD), product, and stakeholder groups to provide creative solutions that will support the delivery of excellent customer experiences at scale. The team is forecasted on delivering custom front-end experiences and leveraging AI (Artificial Intelligence) to provide customer care representatives with best of class resources to assist clients. The team values quick experimentation and is always looking to learn and get better. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the delivery of complex solutions, breaking down big problems into smaller pieces
  • Actively participate in team planning activities
  • Help ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
  • Able to triage complex issues independently
  • Aware of the technology landscape, help to plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications
  • Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design
  • Help new hires and junior engineers to improve their skills and be more effective
  • Contribute to and improve internal libraries and tools
  • Understand the business supported by your applications
  • Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
  • Identify problems and risks of their own work and the work of others
  • Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
  • Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success


Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent. Including:
  • 3+ years of Front-end development experience (JS, CSS, HTML).
  • 2+ years of React Native experience - Strong experience in building and deploying mobile apps for iOS and Android
  • 2+ years of React.js experience - Deep understanding of hooks, functional components, and modern React patterns
  • 3+ years designing new Front-end applications within a Micro Frontend platform
  • JavaScript/TypeScript: Proficiency in ES6+ and TypeScript
  • State Management: Redux & Saga Middleware
  • Familiarity with Jira, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, Splunk or Kibana or similar tools
  • Ability to peer program with other team members
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • State Management: Redux & Saga Middleware
  • Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, or similar frameworks.
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with GH pipelines and deployment.
  • Version Control: Git and branching strategies.
  • Performance Optimization: Knowledge of profiling and debugging tools.
  • Protocols: HTTPS & WEB sockets
  • Repos: Monorepo architecture with dependency management
  • Package Management: NPM & Yarn
  • Understanding of mobile app distribution (App Store, Play Store).
  • NestJS: Hands-on experience with building RESTful APIs and microservices
