Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in AS400 CL RPG/400 and RPGLE. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and preferably some experience in Property & Casualty Insurance. This role is hybrid and requires no travel. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications that support our business objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain software applications using AS400 CL RPG/400 and RPGLE to ensure high performance and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements ensuring that the software solutions meet business needs.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.Design and implement new features and enhancements to existing applications improving functionality and user experience.Conduct thorough testing of software applications to identify and resolve any defects or issues before deployment.Document software designs code and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing within the team.Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and contribute to the teams growth.Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that align with business objectives.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including data security and privacy regulations.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.Participate in project planning and estimation activities contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders providing regular updates on project status and any potential issues.
Qualifications
Must have strong experience in AS400 CL RPG/400 and RPGLE.Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.Nice to have experience in Property & Casualty Insurance domain.Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Nice to have experience with hybrid work models.Must have a strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.Must have a proactive and self-motivated approach to work.Must be committed to continuous learning and professional development.Must have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
