About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (SDE 2) to join our Betwatch team. Betwatch is Baazi Games' fraud detection and prevention tool, designed to ensure the security and integrity of our gaming platform. As a backend engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining scalable, secure APIs, optimizing fraud detection algorithms, and working with large datasets to prevent fraudulent activities on our platform.

Major Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and services for the Betwatch tool using Python and Node.js.
• Fraud Detection: Implement, fine-tune, and optimize fraud detection algorithms that work with real-time data streams to detect suspicious activities and prevent fraud.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to process large datasets, manage database systems, and integrate data from various sources to enhance fraud detection capabilities.
• Monitoring & Security: Set up comprehensive monitoring solutions, ensure the security of the system, and maintain compliance with industry standards, including data protection and fraud prevention regulations.
• Collaboration & Testing: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and other engineering teams. Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, and document processes to ensure continuous improvement of the system.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure Betwatch remains at the cutting edge of fraud detection.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Python and Node.js for backend development.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining APIs and microservices in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of fraud detection systems and algorithms, especially in real-time scenarios.
• Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple sources.
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data processing.
• Proficiency in security best practices, including handling sensitive information and preventing data breaches.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and the ability to set up reliable monitoring systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in the gaming industry or experience working on fraud detection/prevention systems is a plus.
