We create and deliver high-performance SEM Landing Pages to fuel the success of each Expedia Group brand. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we focus our marketing efforts on brand-specific strategies, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we've built through functional expertise.

We are looking for a full-stack Software Development Engineer (III) to join our Marketing Landing Pages team. This team designs and builds landing pages for Expedia, driving significant growth in organic search traffic (SEO) and paid search (SEM). We seek an established performer who consistently applies software principles to business contexts, proactively identifies inefficiencies in existing systems, leads well-defined projects, and supports complex initiatives. Success in this role comes from identifying how technology can solve SEO/SEM business challenges and building features on landing pages that contribute to improved booking conversions.

In this role, you will collaborate with Software Developers, Product Managers, Senior Leaders, and other business stakeholders from various Expedia Group locations worldwide to implement and drive solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Develop practical solutions for the business using appropriate methods and approaches.

• Communicate complex technical and analytical topics in a clear and simple manner to multiple partners and senior leadership.

• Independently drive solutions to completion and ensure production development.

• Apply creativity to provide alternative solutions, removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure.

• Write clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular code with good naming conventions, utilizing software frameworks to simplify coding.

• Implement both backend and frontend solutions to create end-to-end features.

• Collaborate with peers across the organization to understand cross-dependencies and share problem-solving efforts.

• Work closely with team members to co-develop and solve technical problems.

• Understand the importance of system and technology integration, and the features and processes involved in that integration.

• Develop and test standard software applications to ensure they meet design requirements.

• Coordinate input and collaboration efforts from partners when developing solutions.

• Challenge the status quo and authority when necessary.

• Report clearly on work status following Agile practices.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

• Ability to evaluate strengths and weaknesses among programming languages and select the right technology to solve specific needs.

• Ability to identify business problems at the project level and provide effective solutions.

• Strong proficiency in at least two of the following technologies: Java (11+), Kotlin, Node.js, React, Scala.

• Experience with Spring, AWS, Docker, GraphQL, REST APIs, Kubernetes, or Elasticsearch in an enterprise setting.

• Excellent team collaboration skills with the ability to work in a matrix organization and influence others.

• Flexible and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• Ability to test and monitor code at the project level.

• Solid understanding of testing and monitoring tools.

• Ability to test, debug, and fix issues within established SLAs.

• Experience with developer tools like GitHub, CloudFormation, and Jenkins; AWS solutions like ECS, S3, DynamoDB, and VPC.

• Proven experience in resilient deployment strategies.

• Experience implementing single and multi-region solutions using AWS technologies.
