Role Description

We are looking for a Social Media Strategist who understands that effective digital communication goes beyond screens and algorithms. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, politically aware, and capable of translating complex realities into clear, relatable content that resonates across diverse audiences.

You will shape social media strategy from the ground upbalancing creativity with context, growth with responsibility, and ideas with executionin a fast-moving environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute platform-specific social media and content strategies.
  • Build organic reach and engagement using SEO fundamentals, audience insight, and experimentation.
  • Develop content that is intuitive, accessible, and grounded in real-world context.
  • Adapt messaging for varied audience sensibilities and modes of consumption.
  • Monitor performance metrics, extract insights, and refine strategy continuously.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align social media output with broader strategic goals.
  • Track public discourse, emerging narratives, and platform-level shifts.


What Were Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience managing and scaling social media accounts for brands or organisations.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content discoverability, and platform algorithms.
  • Proven ability to grow brands and audiences through thoughtful, adaptive content.
  • Creative thinker with a strong grasp of storytelling and internet culture.
  • Politically aware and context-sensitive, with the ability to read narrative environments.
  • Comfortable solving non-standard problems and working with limited or evolving signals.
  • Able to operate effectively in dynamic, high-pressure settings.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with analytics and performance tracking tools.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
  • Experience managing social media for brands, institutions, or organisations is a plus.
