Job Title: Social Media Lead

Location: New Delhi

Type: Hybrid ( Full-time )

Job Description:


The Social Media Lead will develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to amplify our advocacy work, engage diverse audiences, and build a strong digital community around tech policy and digital rights issues. This role requires someone who can translate complex policy issues into compelling, accessible content while maintaining our organization's voice and values.

Key Responsibilities


Manage day-to-day activities across all social media platforms, ensuring consistent, timely, and meaningful engagement.


Develop and implement strategies to strengthen reach, visibility, and audience engagement across platforms.


Track and analyse platform performance, using insights to refine content and improve overall impact.


Plan and maintain a structured content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, campaigns, and key events


Create and oversee a range of content formats, including posts, campaigns, and short-form videos.


Bring a creative approach to ideating content that resonates with diverse audiences and drives engagement.


Work closely with internal teams to simplify and communicate complex digital rights, legal, and technology issues in an accessible manner.


Support multimedia storytelling efforts, including video content and visual campaigns.


Guide and review graphic and visual outputs to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality.


Produce and edit short-form video content and reels that simplify our complex tech policy work into digestible, shareable formats for social media platforms


Stay informed about evolving social media trends, tools, and industry best practices, and apply relevant insights to strengthen the organizations digital presence.


Develop and implement platform-specific strategies across Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Mastodon, and other relevant channels.


Create compelling and engaging copy for social media posts, threads, captions, and multimedia content.


Contribute to search visibility by supporting SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategies within digital and content initiatives.


Qualifications & Skills


35 years of experience in social media management, preferably in civil society, media, policy, or technology-focused organizations.


Strong understanding of platform strategies, analytics, and content performance metrics.


Ability to think creatively and develop engaging, high-impact digital content and campaigns.


Experience with short-form video, reels, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar).


Excellent storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex subject matter.


Familiarity with digital rights, internet governance, privacy, or open-source ecosystems is highly desirable.


Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Strong written and verbal proficiency in English as well
