Job Description
Responsibilities:
Serve as the go-to expert on utilities, offering in-depth knowledge on operational practices, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technical standards (e.g., NERC, FERC).
Act as a strategic advisor, providing expert insights into sector-specific challenges and recommendations that influence product development and direction.
Provide leadership on emerging technologies innovations and automation within the utilities sector, such as renewable integration, interconnection studies, IoT, or AI- driven analytics.
Act as the primary liaison between the organization and external utility stakeholders, including utility companies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
Gather feedback and insights directly from utility clients to drive product enhancements and alignment with customer needs.
Good to have:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
10-12 years of hands-on experience in the utilities sector, with a focus on transmission planning, power system simulations, or DER integration.
Hands-on experience in design, modelling, simulation and analysis of Electrical Networks using industry-standard tools like ETAP, PSSE, PSSSINCAL, DigSilent Powerfactory, MATLAB Simulink(Power System studies) and PSCAD.
Deep understanding of the working of utilities sector including Distribution System Analysis, Strategic Analysis, Transmission and Distribution Planning, Proposal Preparation, Interconnection Studies, Load Flow and Contingency Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Generation Curtailment Studies, Renewable Integration.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with US Independent System Operators (MISO, PJM, WECC, SPP, and ERCOT) or Indian NLDC(National Load Despatch Centre), RLDCs(Regional Load Despatch Centre) & SLDCs(State Load Despatch Centre) market operations, criteria, and planning methodologies would be a big advantage.
Strong understanding of utility technologies such as SCADA systems, GIS, smart grids, energy management systems and regulatory standards (e.g., NERC, FERC).
Strong understanding of data exchange protocols like CIM, IEC61968, IEC61970, etc. for electrical systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively collaborate with industry experts & cross-functional teams.
Excellent technical presentation skills, with an ability to articulate effectively to potential & existing clients.
