Role Summary

The Platform Engineer will work within the SRE team to build, enhance, and support enterprise-grade monitoring, observability, and automation platforms. The engineer will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and integration with key IT operations tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain infrastructure components supporting monitoring and observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, OpsRamp, SolarWinds).
• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized workloads on OpenShift.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployments, configuration, and data pipelines.
• Integrate observability platforms with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Implement dashboards, alerting rules, and performance metrics following SRE best practices.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
• Collaborate with SRE, application teams, and TOC for operational excellence.
• Ensure platform security, compliance, and adherence to governance policies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in Linux, networking fundamentals, and cloud concepts.
• Hands-on with observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, OpsRamp, SolarWinds.
• Expertise in scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
• Strong understanding of MELT: Metrics, Events, Logs & Traces.
• Experience with containers & orchestration: OpenShift, Docker.
• Knowledge of SLI/SLO/Error Budgets and core SRE practices.
• Strong hands-on with at least 2 major observability tools

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• API integration experience.
• Knowledge of automation tools (Power Automate, Jenkins, Git).

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
