Summary

Pismo's Platform squad is responsible for maintaining the life-cycle (bootstrap, maintenance and decommission) the following domains: Container orchestration (through Kubernetes), Cloud Architecture and Networking (Cloud and On-premise).

What you'll do

The engineer will support the Kubernetes and Service Mesh (Istio) lifecycle within the platform squad by:

• Creating and/or enhancing mechanisms to bootstrap 
• Observe (monitoring)
• Maintain (including upgrades)
• Decommission these resources using infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native best practices across several clusters.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
• The candidate needs to be based in India
• The candidate must possess basic knowledge in Kubernetes and Service Mesh (ideally, Istio), with proven experience supporting both day-to-day operations and business-driven initiatives.
• This role requires a hands-on approach to managing cloud-native infrastructure, with all tasks executed through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)—preferably using Terraform—and aligned with GitOps methodologies within a fully automated CI/CD pipeline.
• Advanced English Level 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
