Site Reliability Engineer Oracle / PG SQL

Your role

Your Role: Are you passionate about providing Level 3 and SME support for over 10,000 Oracle databases? Do you want to advance your career by working on a strong L3 SME team? As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be part of a global database organization, providing high-level expertise for the support of production and development environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement complex changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
• Monitor and analyze performance issues.
• Collaborate with various technical teams to enhance core infrastructure.
• Provide DBA support for application development and production support teams.
• Handle escalations from the Level 2 Global Oracle Team.
• Participate in shift rotations between ASIA/EMEA hours and weekend work as required.
• Perform duties related to RAC, Data-guard, and Goldengate replication setup within complex, multiway heterogeneous replication environments.
• Ensure compliance with operational and change management guidelines.
• Support application and infrastructure BCM tests.
• Engage in L3/SME activities such as complex High Availability and Disaster Recovery design and configuration, advanced performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Work in an Agile model and apply SRE principles to deliver reliable and efficient platforms.
• Improve the lifecycle of Database Services in Oracle reliability for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering practices to support, automation, and operations.
• Learn new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.

Your team

You will be part of the Hosting Services – Database Crew in Pune / Hyderabad, focusing on managed database offerings that include SRE, Automation, and Operations Support for Databases (Oracle) at on-premises and in Azure. You will work with Project Managers, SMEs, Database Engineering, and Operations support dedicated to this function.

Your expertise

• Extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 10g – 11g, 12c.
• Proficiency in Oracle Dataguard, RMAN, RAC, OEM, and Engineered systems like Exadata or ODA.
• Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• 10+ years of experience in providing DBA support for a large number of Oracle databases.
• Excellent understanding of Oracle internals and administration.
• Experience in managing Real Application Clusters and Dataguard.
• Strong skills in analyzing Database Health check reports and interpreting performance metrics.
• Experience working with Oracle Exadata and Oracle Database Appliance.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Good working knowledge of Redhat Linux and Solaris.
• Client Focused, self driven and excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Analytical, logical and strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work calmly in high-pressure environments.
• Good team working skills and the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
• A university bachelor's degree in professional courses or professional certifications.
• PostgreSQL or any other RDBMS product knowledge is an add-on.
