Objectives of this Role

• Maintain the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
• Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
• Measure and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward, getting ahead of student needs, and innovate to improve continually
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications

Daily And Monthly Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
• Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office
• 30-day notification period preferred

Minimum Qualifications

2+ Years of experience with strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Experience with monitoring and logging systems such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.

Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix system administration, Powershell and shell scripting.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).

Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications
