Shopify Ecommerce Web Developer

Role overview

Insole Crew is looking for aShopify E-commerce Web Developer to own, optimise, and continuously improve our sneaker and streetwear storefront on Shopify. The role focuses on theme customisation, performance, CRO, and seamless integrations that deliver a premium, mobilefirst shopping experience to Indian sneakerheads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a highperformance Shopify storefront for sneakers, streetwear, and accessories, aligned with Insole Crews brand and visual identity.
• Customise and extend existing Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve UX, PDPs, PLPs, and checkout flows.
• Implement responsive, mobilefirst layouts and microinteractions to maximise engagement and conversions across devices.
• Integrate, configure, and troubleshoot thirdparty Shopify apps (reviews, wishlist, upsell, shipping, payments, analytics, marketing automations, etc.).
• Collaborate with design, marketing, and operations teams to implement new features (drops pages, launch timers, size guides, lookbooks, campaigns, etc.).
• Optimise store speed, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO (site structure, schema, meta tags, redirects, image optimisation).
• Set up and maintain tracking for Meta, Google Analytics, and other marketing pixels/tags to enable performance marketing and attribution.
• Build and refine cart, checkout, and postpurchase flows to improve conversion rate, AOV, and repeat purchase behaviour.
• Ensure robust implementation of payment gateways, security best practices, and compliance with Shopify standards.
• Diagnose and fix bugs, theme conflicts, and app issues quickly with minimal downtime.
• Stay up to date on Shopify updates, ecosystem apps, and ecommerce UX best practices relevant to sneaker and streetwear stores.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience developing and maintaining Shopify stores (portfolio or live links required).
• Strong frontend skills: Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (and preferably a JS framework for advanced interactions).
• Handson experience with Shopify theme customisation, sections, metafields, filters, and dynamic content.
• Experience integrating and configuring Shopify apps for reviews, UGC, loyalty, upsells, search, and merchandising.
• Solid understanding of e-commerce UX, CRO principles, and best practices for PLPs/PDPs, cart, and checkout.
• Knowledge of technical SEO and performance optimisation for Shopify.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and modern development workflows.
• Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fastmoving D2C environment.

Good to have (preferred)

• Prior work with fashion, streetwear, or sneaker brands, with an understanding of drops, hype releases, and sizedriven purchase behaviour.
• Experience with Shopify Scripts/Functions, custom app development, or headless Shopify setups.
• Knowledge of email/CRM platforms and building highconverting landing pages for campaigns and product launches.
