You'll work as a Shift Engineer, reporting into the Chief Engineer.

In this varied role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assume responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate assigned personnel.
  • Prepare estimates on building repair and maintenance jobs; evaluate maintenance and repair needs.
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that master key of machine rooms; escalators and lift are always available with technicians on duty, one key each as standby with control room, Security officer.
  • Service generator units, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical fixtures, to include heating, ventilating and air conditioning, irrigation, plumbing, pneumatic and alarm systems and FAPA systems.
  • Perform maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
  • Supervise repair of motors, pumps, and plumbing for water supply, AHUs, and other equipment.
  • Prepare reports, maintain inventories, and keep accurate records, order equipment and supplies.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Direct E&M staff to work in an effective manner
  • Control duty roasters of all E&M staff.
  • Communicates effectively with superiors, peers and subordinates
  • Policies, procedures and practices in building maintenance.
  • Principles and practices of management and supervision, including techniques of personnel administration.
  • Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry trades, adopted State and City codes, and the materials, tools, and equipment used in these trades.
  • Materials, tools and equipment used in general building and custodial maintenance.
  • Principles and techniques of carpentry.
  • Use and maintenance of a variety of power and hand tools.

Education and experience

Any Bachelor’s degree.  you’ll need 10 years’ plus experience in Facility Technical (OR) Property Management. A working knowledge of any major vertical industry will also be very helpful. 

An eye for detail

You’ll have an eye for detail and an ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information – and translate this into strategic deliverables. 

Great organisational skills

You’ll have great time management and organisational skills, and be good at meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and adapting to your team’s or client’s changing requirements.
