Shift Engineer

Purpose:

The Sr. Engineer/ Engineer AFD (Mechanical Maintenance) is responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supporting ongoing improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The role focuses on maintaining hydraulic and lubrication systems, minimizing equipment downtime, managing spare parts, and contributing to infrastructure reliability in alignment with production and quality goals.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Execution:

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment including rolling mills, separators, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.

Support for Ongoing Projects & Infrastructure Enhancement:

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Support improvement initiatives related to lubrication and hydraulic system performance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for execution of infrastructure upgrades.

Spare Parts Management & Inventory Control:

• Monitor the availability of critical and consumable spares and raise requisitions as required.
• Maintain spare part records using SAP and Excel tools for efficient inventory tracking.
• Ensure proper storage, issuance, and receipt of mechanical materials.

Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to EHS guidelines and ensure safe working practices during maintenance activities.
• Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety audits and corrective actions.
• Promote awareness of machine guarding and risk mitigation within the department.

Authority:

• Recommend updates to preventive maintenance schedules and spare part requirements.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores departments for timely material requisition follow-up.
• Represent the mechanical team in departmental meetings and technical discussions.

Accountability:

• Ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks to support uninterrupted production.
• Maintain equipment reliability and contribute to reduction in downtime.
• Uphold safety standards and support zero-incident performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support ISO compliance.
• Contribute to cost-effective maintenance through efficient spare management

Qualification:

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years experience.
