Service Reliability Engineer 4

Common accountabilities:

MariaDB :

  • Install, configure, and upgrade MariaDB database systems including Galera Clusters.
  • Monitor the performance and health of MariaDB databases, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Implement database security measures, including user access control and data encryption.
  • Optimize database performance through index tuning, query optimization, and hardware configurations.
  • Encryption of data at rest and transit in AWS or in any public clouds
  • Backup and restore databases regularly to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with developers and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of databases with applications.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning to anticipate future database growth and requirements.
  • Maintain database documentation, including standard operating procedures and technical specifications.
  • Hardening of DB as per the PCIDSS Standards
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in MariaDB administration.

MongoDB :

  • Install, configure, and upgrade MongoDB database systems.
  • Monitor MongoDB database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query execution.
  • Encryption of data at rest and transit in AWS or in any public clouds
  • Implement and maintain database security, including user access control and data encryption.
  • Ensure data availability and integrity through regular backups and restoration procedures.
  • Scale MongoDB clusters and sharing environments to accommodate growing data needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as crashes and performance problems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and optimize queries.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation and best practices.
  • Hardening of DB as per the PCIDSS Standards
  • Stay updated with the latest MongoDB releases and features
  • Migrating MongoDB to Atlas MongoDB
  • Provision MongoDB Atlas clusters, choosing appropriate configurations for performance and scalability
  • Set up automated backups and disaster recovery procedures for MongoDB Atlas databases.
  • Work with development teams to optimize schema design and index strategies
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and security standards for MongoDB Atlas deployments.

Atlas MongoDB:

  • Strong knowledge of Atlas administration, backup & restore, and performance tuning
  • Expertise in schema design, indexing, replication, and sharding strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Atlas administration, backup & restore, and performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Private Link, IAM, VPC Peering).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Responsible for Cloud Security and follow best practices
