Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Server Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in managing and maintaining server infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, and addressing technical issues. The Server Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting physical and virtual servers, along with ensuring that the server environment is secure, scalable, and meets the companys operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Server Installation & Configuration:

o Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux/Unix servers.

o Manage physical and virtual server environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

o Setup and manage cloud-based servers on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Server Maintenance & Monitoring:

o Perform regular updates, patch management, and system upgrades.

o Monitor server performance and ensure optimal uptime and availability.

o Automate monitoring and alerting for server health and resource utilization.

Troubleshooting & Support:

o Diagnose and troubleshoot server-related issues, including hardware, OS, and network problems.

o Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for timely issue resolution.

o Provide Level 2/3 support for server-related incidents.

Security Management:

o Implement security protocols, firewalls, and backup procedures.

o Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.

o Conduct server audits and vulnerability assessments.

Backup & Recovery:

o Develop and maintain backup strategies for disaster recovery and data protection.

o Perform periodic testing of backups and restore capabilities.

Documentation & Reporting:

o Maintain comprehensive documentation of the server environment, configurations, and procedures.

o Generate reports on server performance, uptime, and resource usage.

Collaboration & Communication:

o Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT team members.

o Communicate server-related issues and status updates to management.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux servers.

Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
