SEO Specialist — (WordPress / Local SEO)

About the Role

We are hiring an SEO Specialist to join a dedicated client delivery team at NMG Technologies. You will be the embedded SEO resource working alongside WordPress developers owning on-page SEO, technical SEO, and local SEO across a growing portfolio of WordPress websites for an international client.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You will run SEO sprints independently, join weekly client calls, and work closely with developers to make sure SEO is part of the build process from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute on-page SEO across WordPress sites: title tags, meta descriptions, headers, alt tags, URL structure, and content optimization using Surfer SEO
• Implement schema markup (JSON-LD) LocalBusiness, FAQ, BreadcrumbList, and relevant structured data
• Configure and maintain Yoast SEO / All-in-One SEO across all sites
• Run technical SEO audits: robots.txt, sitemaps, canonicals, crawl errors, redirects, and indexation via Google Search Console
• Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) in coordination with the dev team
• Set up and manage SE Ranking projects keyword tracking, site audits, competitor monitoring, and reporting
• Prepare local SEO data NAP consistency, citation readiness, and listing coordination via Yext
• Execute internal linking sprints and content optimization cycles
• Log hours and tasks in internal tools and the client's ClickUp workspace
• Present progress and priorities on weekly client calls

Must-Have Skills

• 24 years of hands-on WordPress SEO experience (agency background preferred)
• Proficiency in Surfer SEO and SE Ranking
• Strong technical SEO fundamentals: crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, hreflang
• Experience with Yoast SEO / All-in-One SEO configuration
• Familiarity with Yext or similar citation management platforms
• Comfortable with Google Search Console, GA4, and PageSpeed Insights
• Can implement JSON-LD schema independently
• Solid understanding of local SEO: GBP, NAP consistency, citations, map pack
• Strong communication skills you will be on weekly video calls with international clients

Good-to-Have

• Experience with international or multilingual SEO
• Basic WordPress development skills (enough to make changes without a developer)
• Exposure to AI-assisted SEO workflows
• Experience with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or SEMrush
