About the Role

Ecompapiis looking for anSEO Specialist/Organic Growth Expertwho understands how search works today and where it is headed. This is not a role for someone who optimises title tags and calls it a strategy. We are looking for a practitioner who understands the full architecture of organic visibility, covering traditional SEO, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), and who can apply all three disciplines to grow client presence across both conventional search results and AI-powered discovery platforms.

The way people find information is changing rapidly. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and similar tools are reshaping what it means to rank. The right candidate understands this shift and knows how to structure content so that it performs in the traditional ten blue links as well as being cited and surfaced by the generative AI tools that a growing share of usersrelyon.

What These Disciplines Mean

• SEO: Traditional search optimisation covering rankings, traffic, technical health, and domain authority
• AEO: Structuring content to appear as direct answers in featured snippets, AI Overviews, and voice search
• GEO: Positioning content so it is cited and referenced by generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute organic growth strategies covering technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content architecture, and off-page authority building
• Design content structures that serve both traditional search intent and the requirements of AI-driven answer engines
• Implement AEO strategies by structuring content to appear in featured snippets, People Also Ask results, and Google AI Overviews
• Apply GEO principles to ensure client content is cited and referenced by generative AI platforms
• Create detailed content briefs for writers covering heading hierarchy, semantic structure, keyword clustering, internal linking, and E-E-A-T signals
• Build and manage a contextual backlink strategy, prioritising editorial placements on genuinely relevant and authoritative sites
• Conduct in-depth keyword research, including topical authority mapping, semantic clustering, and search intent analysis
• Perform technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexability, Core Web Vitals, page speed, structured data, and site architecture
• Monitor organic performance through Google Search Console, GA4, and third-party tools, and report on commercial outcomes clearly
• Stay ahead of algorithm updates and AI search developments, and adapt client strategies accordingly

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably within an agency managing multiple client accounts across different industries
• Strong understanding of AEO, including structuring content for featured snippets, Q&A formats, schema markup, and direct answer targeting
• Clear awareness of GEO and how generative AI tools source, evaluate, cite, and surface information
• Deep knowledge of content structure, including heading hierarchy, topic clustering, pillar pages, content silos, and internal linking
• Proven experience building high-quality contextual backlinks with a focus on editorial relevance and domain authority over volume
• ProficiencyinAhrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4
• Solid understanding of structured data, including JSON-LD schema types such as Article, FAQ,HowTo,LocalBusiness, and Product
• Strong understanding of E-E-A-T and how it shapes both content decisions and link-building strategy
• Clear written communication to explain the organic strategy to non-technical clients and produce briefs that writers can confidently act on

Nice to Have

• Experience optimising content specifically for Google AI Overviews
• Familiarity with advanced schema types such as Review, Event, andVideoObject
• Experience with multilingual or multi-region SEO
• Knowledge of programmatic SEO for scalable content production strategies
• Understanding of how Reddit, Quora, and forum content influences both traditional and AI-driven search results
