About the Function:
The Brand Marketing function for Emerging Business leverages data-driven strategies and innovative SEO techniques to enhance website performance and visibility. By combining expertise in keyword research, content optimization, and technical SEO, the team aims to drive organic traffic growth, improve search rankings, and increase revenue. With a strong focus on MakeMyTrip’s lines of business—such as Holidays and Where2Go—this function plays a crucial role in accelerating growth and achieving broader business objectives.
About the Role:
As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for optimizing the website and its content to achieve higher search engine rankings and increased traffic. You will work closely with the Product, Tech, Content, and Revenue teams to create and execute SEO strategies that align with our business goals. Your role will require both technical expertise and strategic thinking to strengthen our SEO efforts, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and performance analysis.
What will you be doing:
- SEO Strategy & Implementation: Managing on-page and off-page SEO by optimizing website structure, content, and linking to improve search rankings.
- Keyword Research & Link Building: Conducting ongoing keyword research and executing a scalable link-building strategy.
- Technical SEO & Development: Embedding SEO best practices into development workflows and addressing technical SEO challenges.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitoring traffic acquisition KPIs, analysing performance data, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Content & Conversion: Collaborating with content teams to create high-quality, SEO-driven content and enhancing conversion funnels.
- Competitive & Industry Analysis: Researching competitors, staying updated on algorithm changes, and adapting strategies accordingly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to scale SEO growth and automation.
Qualification & Experience:
- A graduate from a reputed institute with 5–7 years of hands-on SEO experience, demonstrating a strong track record of driving substantial organic traffic growth and successfully managing SEO for e-commerce platforms.
- Proficient in industry-standard SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Majestic, and Google Search Console, with a strong understanding of analytics platforms including Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics (Omniture).
- Deep knowledge of search engine ranking factors, optimization techniques, and major algorithm updates, along with a working understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the technical constraints impacting SEO.
- Experience in addressing SEO challenges at scale across both web and mobile platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end SEO strategies while effectively managing multiple stakeholders in global, fast-paced environments.
- Well-versed in audience-building tactics, conversion funnel optimization, and integrating SEO efforts within broader performance marketing initiatives.

- Data & Reporting: Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting) and PowerPoint (executive presentations).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate SEO strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
