Senior Web Developer

Bradford Jacobs have parterned with a leading property risk and compliance consultancy focused on helping organisations make buildings safer for people. They provide expert services across areas such as health and safety, fire safety, asbestos management, water hygiene, working at height, and professional training all designed to support regulatory compliance and effective risk management.

Role Overview

This role is a hands-on senior development position responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining Tetras web-based software platforms. The Senior Web Developer will deliver high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across front-end and back-end components, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing systems. The role works closely with the wider Technology team to ensure that delivery aligns with business requirements, architecture standards, and best-practice software engineering principles.

What youll do

• Build, enhance, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications across core platforms and internal systems
• Deliver clean, high-quality code using React, TypeScript, and modern backend technologies (e.g. Node.js)
• Develop responsive, secure, and high-performing user experiences aligned to UI/UX and architectural standards
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions

Technical leadership

• Act as a senior contributor, guiding best practices and implementation approaches
• Lead by example in code quality, reviews, and maintainable architecture
• Drive technical decision-making and contribute to solution design

Architecture & engineering excellence

• Shape and evolve system architecture across frontend, backend, APIs, and data models
• Build scalable, secure, and resilient systems, including third-party integrations
• Produce clear technical documentation and design artefacts

Quality, testing & reliability

• Own automated testing (unit, integration, E2E) to support safe, confident releases
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, driving root cause improvements
• Champion secure coding practices and reduce defects and regressions

Agile delivery & collaboration

• Work closely with Product, QA, and Engineering teams in an Agile environment
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and delivery against clear acceptance criteria
• Ensure consistent delivery against sprint goals and milestones

DevOps & continuous improvement

• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release processes
• Improve build, deployment, and development workflows
• Leverage AI tools (e.g. Claude) to accelerate developmentwhile applying strong engineering judgement
• Drive ongoing improvements, modernisation, and reduction of technical debt

What youll bring

Essential

• Proven experience as a Senior Full-Stack / Web Developer
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and backend API development (e.g. Node.js)
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL or similar) and data modelling
• Experience with testing frameworks and automated testing practices
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, clean architecture, and code quality
• Knowledge of web security (authentication, authorisation, OWASP)
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly

Desirable

• Docker, containerisation, and web servers (e.g. Nginx)
• CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Storybook or component-driven development
• Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)
• Third-party API integrations
• Experience modernising legacy systems and reducing technical debt

This is a Hybrid role paying up to INR 1,750,000 per annum.
