Senior Web & Application Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Web & Application Developer to be part of our growing team. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in PHP and Python, along with 5+ years of professional development experience. This role also involves working with applications hosted on Linux environments, AWS, and Azure, handling ongoing maintenance and patching activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1) Application Development

• Build, enhance, and support web-based applications using Python and PHP
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure application stability, performance, and scalability

2) Application Administration

• Handle routine application updates, patches, and maintenance to maintain reliability and security
• Manage and support applications deployed on AWS and Azure cloud platforms

3) Application Support

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting across multiple applications, systems, and tools

4) Security & Compliance

• Ensure applications, servers, and websites follow established security standards and best practices
• Apply and monitor security patches to protect systems from potential vulnerabilities

5) Collaboration & Project Coordination

• Partner closely with design, marketing, and IT teams to ensure development initiatives align with business goals
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

6) Documentation

• Create and maintain clear documentation for application code, infrastructure setup, and operational processes

7) API Development

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile use cases
• Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and properly documented

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with Python, PHP, and API development
• Practical experience with AWS and Azure environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with WordPress websites, particularly Divi Themes, is an added advantage
• Exposure to Linux server administration, including patching, updates, and performance monitoring, is an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
• Experience with website and application performance optimization techniques
