Role Overview

The Global Head of Data Platform will lead the transformation and unification of our cloud-based data platforms across the group, enabling a strategic shift in how data fuels business value. This role will ensure that our federated data product teams across countries and can innovate and deliver with speed, autonomy, and impact.

As a senior leader, the Global Head of Data Platform will co-create the vision, shape the roadmap, and foster alignment across multiple stakeholders.

By providing a world-class self-service data platform, this role will accelerate the creation of data-driven products and solutions, strengthen governance and trust in data, and position the group at the forefront of digital innovation in the industry.

The ideal candidate is a visionary yet pragmatic hands on technology leader, experienced in scaling enterprise data platforms globally, and able to translate complex technology strategies into meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the strategic vision for the groups data platform, ensuring it is a catalyst for business growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.

Lead the unification and modernization of fragmented data platforms into a coherent, scalable, and future-ready enterprise data ecosystem.

Equip federated teams with a cutting-edge data platform that balances their innovation independence with enterprise-wide standards, governance, and security.

Align data platform investments with business priorities, balancing speed and scalability with compliance and risk management.

Cultivate strong partnerships across technical, data domains, and data engineering teams to ensure the platform accelerates delivery of business-critical outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Senior technology leader with 18+ years leading data and cloud transformations in complex, global enterprises (multi-country / multi-organization environments).

Demonstrated success building and running enterprise data platforms as products, scaling adoption, improving delivery speed, and driving measurable outcomes.

Strong track record implementing modern data practices and enabling data products at scale (reusability, lifecycle, standards, and measurable value).

Deep GCP / BigQuery-centric platform expertise, end-to-end, including:

Platform layers: ingestion (ELT/ETL, CDC, streaming..), orchestration, storage, serving/consumption enablement

Trust & control: security and privacy, policy-based access, metadata, lineage, data quality controls

Observability: monitoring and alerting, SLIs/SLOs, incident response, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement

Data products & marketplace: product lifecycle, ownership, documentation, discoverability, self-service access and reuse

Operational excellence: reliability engineering, automation/CI-CD, change & release management, capacity planning, and FinOps cost governance

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across senior stakeholders and align diverse teams behind a shared direction.

Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and regulatory alignment, with the ability to design frameworks that enable both trust and speed.
