Role Description

Our Data Strategy team which is part of DWS Global Technology is looking for a experienced Java Engineer to further develop the data strategy program. This program is a strategic program for DWS, where all of the core data domains of Asset Management are consolidated, harmonized and exposed to the end consumer in a consistent manner.

Lead engineer is a central part of the data strategy who needs to lead team of engineers to develop and productionise data services using primarily java, spring boot technology stack. Lead engineer works with product owner and data strategy stakeholders to understand the roadmap and plan the deliverables accordingly.

Your key responsibilities

• Leading a team of engineers, testers to achive the agreed project delivery goals using agile delivery model.
• Production of code based assets within the context of agile delivery (helping define and meet epics, stories, acceptance criteria)
• Responsible for the design, development and QA of those assets and outputs
• Ensure compliance to coding guidelines and standards
• Perform review of component integration testing, unit testing and code review
• Support solution design of emergent business demand (working with product, UX and architecture owners)
• Technical activity planning of epics and stories to inform team delivery
• Enforcement of NFRs, architectural / development standards and principles
• Working with the central architecture team to assure the holistic solution within shaping and delivery activities

Your skills and experience

• Proven high performance, highly resilient micro-service java based middle tier development experience (use of Spring-Cloud framework preferable)
• Agile (scrum) based delivery practices, test driven development, test automation, continuous delivery
• Passion for learning new technologies
• Experience with Server-Side development, data processing, Networks and Protocols.
• Experience working with agile/continuous integration/test technologies such as git/stash, Jenkins, Artifactory, Appium, Selenium, SonarQube
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment
• Experience with SOA (SOAP / Rest / OData)
• Experience of developing scalable application using Kafka
• Good understanding of relational databases and knowledge of different data models.
• Well versed with SQL and able to understand and debug database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions etc.
• API based / componentized services (Java, restful services, api management, micro services; using open-source libraries, frameworks and platforms); NFR engineering practices in agile delivery
