Senior Source Inspector experienced in aerospace / defense supplier inspections

Role Purpose

To independently manage third-party inspections at supplier facilities, including complex components, documentation review, and client-facing inspection activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced source inspections at supplier/manufacturing sites

• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI AS9102 / ISIR / PPAP as applicable)

• Inspect aerospace, defense, oil & gas, or precision-engineered components

• Verify special process documentation (heat treatment, coating, welding, NDT)

• Raise NCRs / SCARs and support closure with suppliers

• Act as the primary inspection interface with clients during site visits

• Review and approve supplier quality documents and inspection packs

• Mentor junior inspectors during joint inspections

• Travel extensively for domestic and occasional international inspections

Required Experience & Skills

• 712 years in source inspection / supplier quality / third-party inspection

• Strong drawing interpretation including GD&T

• Hands-on experience with FAI, PPAP, NCR handling

• Familiarity with aerospace / defense / oil & gas quality requirements

• Strong inspection reporting and client communication skills

• Independent, confident, and comfortable working at supplier sites

Nice to Have

• AS9100 / ISO 9001 exposure

• NDT Level II certification

• Prior experience working with OEMs or inspection agencies
