What you will do

System Administration & Operations

• Lead administration of SAP NetWeaver (ECC) and SAP S/4HANA systems.

• Lead ECC, BW, MDG, SLT and S/4HANA technical administration and landscape strategy, including upgrades, technical transformations, integrations, and special requirements.

• Provide hands-on leadership for SAP HANA administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Provide HANA technical governance including capacity planning, performance trend analysis, and issue resolution guidance.

• Govern SAP transport management using STMS and Solution Manager ChaRM.

• Own and design enterprise monitoring and operations architecture using:

  • SAP Focused Run for centralized, large-scale monitoring

  • SAP Solution Manager for ChaRM, monitoring, and transition scenarios

  • SAP Cloud ALM for cloud-centric landscapes

• Oversee daily SAP Basis operations, including monitoring, reporting, housekeeping, and capacity planning.

• Plan and execute SAP kernel upgrades, support package stacks, and patching activities with minimal business disruption.

Security, Compliance & Vulnerability Management

• Define and govern vulnerability management strategy, including:

  • Risk-based assessment and prioritization of SAP Security Notes

  • Kernel, support pack, and OS patch governance

  • Integration of vulnerability remediation with change and release management

• Architect SAP security fundamentals, including:

  • SSL and certificate lifecycle management strategy

  • Authentication patterns using SAML and OAuth

• Act as final escalation point for complex, cross-layer security and production incidents.

Troubleshooting & Integration

• Drive complex troubleshooting across SAP Fiori, SAP GUI, Enterprise Portal, printers, and interface components.

• Lead integration support involving PI/PO, BW, Portal, ADS, SSO, and SAML 2.0.

• Own Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement preventive actions.

• Provide architectural oversight for SAP BODS landscapes, including stability, performance, and patch strategy.

Cloud, Automation & Optimization

• Identify and drive automation, performance optimization, and cost optimization initiatives across SAP systems and infrastructure.

• Provide technical leadership for SAP workloads on cloud platforms (Azure / GCP).

• Define hybrid SAP platform standards for high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and cloud cost optimization.

• Guide teams on infrastructure automation and DevOps practices using Terraform, Ansible, scripting (Shell/Python), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Drive automation-first engineering practices, including:

  • Patch orchestration, validation automation, and compliance reporting

  • Rule-based or AI-assisted automation for alert triage and self-healing

Operating Systems & Infrastructure

• Lead SAP operations in Linux and Windows environments.

• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage, and OS-level administration.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide SAP Basis administrators, ensuring skill development and operational excellence.

• Define operational, security, and compliance standards for SAP platforms.

• Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to drive issues to closure.

• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, providing clear status updates, risk assessments, and improvement plans.

• Maintain a customer-centric approach focused on delivering reliable and measurable outcomes.

What you will bring

Core Experience & Expertise

• 10–12+ years of SAP Basis and SAP infrastructure experience with deep ECC and S/4HANA ownership.

• Expert knowledge of SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, CAR, Solution Manager (ChaRM), SAP LaMa, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP Fiori.

• Proven leadership of complex SAP upgrades, migrations, or landscape redesigns.

• Working (non-DBA) knowledge of SAP HANA.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills across SAP, OS, database, network, and integration layers.

Cloud, Monitoring & Automation

• Experience running SAP at scale on Azure and/or GCP.

• Strong hands-on expertise with SAP Focused Run.

• Clear understanding of Solution Manager vs Focused Run vs Cloud ALM positioning.

• Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, scripting (Shell/Python), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong scripting and automation architecture experience.

Security & Integration

• Strong knowledge of SAP Security Notes, SSL, SAML, OAuth, and SAP security architecture.

• Experience governing SAP BODS platforms.

• Experience with infrastructure components: networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage systems, and OS-level administration (Linux/Unix).

Preferred / Nice-to-have

• Experience supporting or leading S/4HANA conversions.

• Exposure to Edge Integration Cell or hybrid integration runtimes.

• SAP or cloud architect certifications.

• Experience with AI/ML-driven operations or observability platforms.

• Experience in high-availability, retail-scale or enterprise-scale environments
