We're seeking a Senior Terraform Engineer / IAC Engineer to join our innovative team building and maintaining Marriott's Internal Developer Portal. This platform empowers our engineering community with self-service automation capabilities, enabling them to provision and manage cloud infrastructure efficiently. You'll be working with a distributed team of 12 talented engineers across our US and MTA offices, creating and enhancing the infrastructure-as-code foundation that drives our developer productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and Develop IAC Solutions (50% hands-on coding): Create, maintain, and enhance Terraform modules that provision resources across AWS and AliCloud environments
• Architecture & Innovation: Contribute to architectural decisions for infrastructure automation and help shape the future of our self-service platform
• Support & Collaboration: Provide technical support to platform users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations of our IAC ecosystem
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and fix bugs, optimize existing modules, and implement new functionality based on user feedback
• Integration Development: Work with our tech stack including Python FastAPI middleware, AWS Step Functions workflows, and Terraform Cloud to deliver seamless automation experience

Skill and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation
• Expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Terraform Cloud
• Strong programming skills in Python and HCL
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, particularly Harness.io
• Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AliCloud or multi-cloud environments
• AWS and HashiCorp certifications
• Startup experience demonstrating adaptability and innovation
• Background in large-scale infrastructure management
• Experience building developer tooling or internal platforms
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools integration
