We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with specialized expertise in SkySpark to join our team. This role requires a strong technical foundation in building scalable, distributed systems and will involve working with building management systems while supporting our production environment across global time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services with a focus on API development and WebSocket implementations that can handle heavy traffic and scale efficiently
• Create and enhance SkySpark Functions, Rules, and Extensions to support our building management systems
• Develop and deploy microservices in Azure Cloud environments
• Implement message-driven and event-driven architectures
• Support the production environment, including incident response and resolution
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle including CI/CD processes

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python for API development and WebSocket implementation
• Minimum 3+ years experience with SkySpark, including Fantom and Axon programming for developing Functions, Rules, and Extensions
• Experience with Azure Cloud services and microservices architecture
• Demonstrated experience with message-driven and event-driven development using technologies such as MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar systems
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth, OIDC, and Federated Identity
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and commitment to automation and high-quality software development
• Availability to work in alignment with US West Coast morning hours
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to support production environments and contribute to incident management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Building Management System (BMS) protocols including BACnet, Modbus, OPC, and Niagara
• Knowledge of distributed computing principles and practices
• Experience working in a global team across multiple time zones
• Background in IoT or building automation systems

• Knowledge of Cursor AI Code Editor, AngularTS/React.JS and/or any other GenAI / AgenticAI tools is Plus
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques,
• Thorough understanding of AngularTS/React.JS and its core principles. 
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model. 
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and related libraries/frameworks. 
• Proficiency in UI/UX design principles and responsive web design. 
• Experience with RESTful APIs integration and JSON. 
• Solid understanding of version control systems (such as Git). 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. 
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Web Development.
