Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer as a backend developer for the Visa Spend Clarity for Business Product Development team. The Visa Spend Clarity for Business Product Development team is part of Visa’s Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) organization and is responsible for designing, developing, and managing applications and services for VSCB.

Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for building highly distributed and parallelized systems.
• Proficiency in Java and Scala with strong design and coding skills.
• Hands-on experience with web technologies including Spring Boot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, JQuery, and REST API.
• Practical knowledge of Angular.
• Working experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with Apache Spark is plus.
• Familiarity with Git/Stash, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, and Jira.
• Experience with database technologies like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong automation mindset.
• Capability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate logic and implementation plans to team members and managers.
• Self-starter, quick learner, and detailed and thorough.
• Experience in payment processing is a big plus.
