Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Service Management Automation
Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park (Hybrid)

Business & Team

 Global Technology Services (GTS) division, you will contribute to the technology products and services we deliver, from technical design and coding to deployment to operation. Our GTS products and services are leveraged across all Business Unit Platforms within the Bank to deliver industry-leading software including: CommBank App, Netbank, CommSee, CommSec, CommBiz and Commbank.com.au.

Impact & contribution

 The role is a Senior Software Engineer in the Database and DevSecOps Portfolio which consists of the Database Services (SQL, Oracle as a Service, OPG), Network Automation and Infrastructure Controls Automation Framework service.

The portfolio and services are enabling the bank to increase our visibility and improve our management for IT Service Control compliance and attestation, and improving our engineering and operational delivery across Infrastructure through increased Automation.

This position will pre-dominantly be based at Commonwealth Bank's state of the art Eveleigh office's although we also provide flexible working conditions and also provide the opportunity to work remotely or in a hybrid environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Participate in systems requirements definition and ensure requirements are understood      and accurately defined.

• Solution Architecture and software design

• Direct technical aspect of software development and ensuring that software is developed and tested to the agreed standards and specifications.

• Enhancement of existing web application solutions.

• Review, understand and resolve service requests for Software Additions, Fixes or Improvements.

• Review business requirements and investigate ways to improve software services.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development.

• Strong web development skills in React - 3 years+ (Must)

• Experience in Python and Django Framework – 1 years+ (Desirable)

• Understanding of cloud technologies like AWS / Kubernetes is desirable.

• Experience working on Obstack, Observability and Pagerduty

• System Testing and Test Case Definition.

• Experience working on high traffic web solutions. (desirable)

• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

• Experience with Git, yarn and CI/CD using Jenkins

• Understanding and Experience in Secure Coding Practices for Solution Design and Delivery

• Understanding of ServiceNow

• Good Understanding of Technology Controls

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
