Senior Software Engineer - POS Migration
 

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the successful migration of our Point of Sale (POS) systems. This position requires a strong understanding of Windows operating systems, software development principles, and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
 

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions to support POS migration projects.
• Develop and maintain software applications related to POS systems, including device drivers, firmware updates, and diagnostic tools.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software applications to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to POS hardware and software, including driver compatibility, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and field service technicians, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices related to POS systems, operating systems, and software development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Document all work thoroughly, including design specifications, test plans, and troubleshooting procedures.
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in C++, C#, and .NET Framework.
• Experience with Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and embedded Windows.
• Experience with Windows scanning tools and utilities.
• Experience with GUI development and design principles.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with USB and Bluetooth protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for technology and a desire to learn new things.
   

Desired Skills:

• Experience with POS systems and retail environments.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
