Role: Database Performance Engineer

• Analyse the performance of the Oracle Database
• Provide continuous and timely feedback to development to further enhance the performance
• Compete effectively with industry standard benchmarks on platforms deemed strategic to Oracle
• Provide focus and coordination with a clear benchmark strategy across all strategic platforms
• Provide assistance to the field organizations where there is a strong business or strategic interest

• Work with latest/trending technologies first-hand – Cloud, Multi-tenancy, Big Data/Analytics, Security, Clustering, High Availability, Sharding, Distributed DB, InMemory, JSON Service, Exadata platforms
• Become an Oracle RDBMS expert with Advanced DB Internals / Kernel & Architecture knowledge / Hardware Processor / DB Performance tuning
• Gain expertise on cpu/memory profiling tools, modern programming languages, load generation tools, standards & benchmarks, DB performance techniques, DB performance best practices
• Exposure to State of Art Lab infrastructure for performance analysis and expertise on different OS platforms

A minimum of 5+ years of experience with at least 3 years in Oracle Database

• Good  understanding of  Oracle database internals, AI concepts, Vector DB, performance analysis using AWR, ADDM, ASH reports, SQL Tuning.
• Competency in programming with PL/SQL development, C programming, Unix Shell Scripting/Python/Perl Scripting
• Knowledge on OS internals (gathering stats related to cpu, memory, io) and profiling tools like perf, vtune, oprofile, JFR, collect, dbx, tprof etc.
• Experience working with Cloud infrastructure APIs, REST API model, and developing REST APIs, is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Strong analytical, communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and collaboration skills

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
