Senior Sap Materials Management Consultant ( Retail /IR)

Designation: Senior SAP MM ( IS/ Retail Functional Consultant )

Role Summary

The SAP MM Retail Consultant is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of SAP Materials Management (MM) processes tailored for Retail business scenarios. The role focuses on merchandise procurement, inventory management, vendor management, and store-related logistics, ensuring seamless integration with SAP Retail, SD, FI, and S/4HANA.

Functional Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP MM Retail processes, including:
• Merchandise procurement
• Vendor master management
• Purchase orders, contracts, and scheduling agreements
• Goods receipt, goods issue, and stock transfers
• Work with SAP Retail-specific objects:
• Article Master (Single, Generic, Variant articles)
• Merchandise Categories
• Assortments
• Listing & Delisting
• Handle inventory management across:
• Distribution centers
• Stores
• Consignment and third-party stock
• Configure and support Retail pricing and valuation concepts.
• Manage returns, stock corrections, and markdown processes.
• Support physical inventory and cycle counting processes.
• Ensure smooth integration with:
• SAP SD (Sales & POS)
• SAP FI (GR/IR, vendor reconciliation)
• SAP WM / EWM (Warehouse operations)
• SAP CAR / POSDM (Point of Sale data)
• Support interfaces and IDocs (e.g., MATMAS, ARTMAS, ORDERS).

Project & Support Activities

• Participate in SAP Retail or S/4HANA implementation and rollouts.
• Conduct business requirement analysis and solution design.
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments.
• Support UAT, cutover, and Go-Live activities.
• Provide production support and issue resolution.
• Train end users and prepare process documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM with Retail.
• Good knowledge of SAP Retail Master Data and procurement processes.
• Experience with S/4HANA Retail is preferred.
• Knowledge of pricing, valuation, and account determination.
• Understanding of store and DC logistics.
• Familiarity with IDocs, interfaces, and batch jobs.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Experience

• 5+ years of SAP MM experience with Retail domain exposure.
• SAP certification in MM or SAP Retail is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Fashion or AFS
• Exposure to SAP EWM
• Experience in POS integration and retail analytics
