Role Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Executive with a proven track record (minimum 4 years) of B2B sales in the paper manufacturing / packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of packaging products and paper-based materials, preferably with formal education from IIP / SIES or a similar packaging-industry background. The role involves building and expanding client relationships, achieving sales targets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities and potential customers in the paper/packaging sector (manufacturers, distributors, converters, packaging buyers, etc.).
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients handle negotiations, contracts, renewals, and upselling.
- Prepare and present tailored product proposals and quotations to clients; conduct product demonstrations / technical discussions if needed (especially for packaging/paper products).
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs; provide feedback to internal teams on market dynamics, demand patterns, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (production, supply chain, logistics, quality) to ensure timely delivery, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, leads, and customer interactions; prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Work independently and manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure to post-sales support.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, client visits build and expand the companys market presence.
Qualifications & Preferred Background
- Mandatory: Minimum 4 years of sales experience ideally in paper manufacturing, packaging materials, paper-board, corrugated board, or related sectors.
- Education Preference: Candidate with a background in packaging education / manufacturing preferably from IIP, SIES, or similar packaging/industry-oriented institutes. (E.g., Diploma, PGDP or relevant certification from IIP / degree from SIES GST or equivalent.)
- Strong knowledge of paper/packaging products, grades, applications, and customer requirements in packaging / converters / manufacturing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders at different levels.
- Good presentation skills and ability to articulate technical/product details if required.
- Result-oriented mindset, ability to work under pressure to achieve sales targets.
- Ability to prepare sales forecasts, reports, and maintain CRM or sales tracking tools.
- Willingness to travel field visits to clients, mills, converters, trade shows, as needed.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Existing network or contacts in the paper / packaging / converting / FMCG packaging industry.
- Experience managing a portfolio of corporate or key accounts.
- Understanding of supply chain, supply timelines, logistics relevant to paper/packaging product deliveries.
- Familiarity with packaging standards, quality parameters, paper-board grades, converting requirements.
- Strong market insight and ability to analyse competitor offerings and propose competitive pricing / product-value propositions.
