Senior Research Professor (All fields)

Core Responsibilities

1. High-Impact Research Leadership

• Conduct and publish original, high-quality research in leading international journals and presses.
• Build a coherent, forward-looking research agenda aligned with institutional priorities.
• Serve as a thought leader in one or more strategic research domains.

2. Grant Acquisition & Research Funding

• Secure competitive external research funding from national and international agencies, foundations, industry, or multilateral bodies.
• Lead or co-lead large-scale, multi-year research projects and consortia.
• Support institutional capacity-building in research funding and proposal development.

3. Doctoral Supervision & Research Mentorship

• Supervise PhD and postdoctoral researchers to completion with high scholarly standards.
• Mentor early- and mid-career faculty in research design, publication strategy, and grant development.
• Contribute to the development of a strong research culture grounded in rigor and ethics.

4. Research Ecosystem Building

• Establish and/or strengthen research centers, labs, or thematic clusters.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the institution and with global partners.
• Support integration of research outputs into advanced graduate curricula and policy or industry impact.

5. Global Academic Engagement

• Represent the institution at leading international conferences, symposia, and scholarly networks.
• Build sustained collaborations with top global universities, think tanks, and research organizations.
• Enhance the institutions academic reputation and citation footprint globally.

Teaching & Service Expectations

• Minimal but strategic teaching at the doctoral or advanced postgraduate level.
• Participation in doctoral committees, research councils, and ethics boards as required.
• Contribution to academic governance related to research excellence.

Required Qualifications

Essential

• PhD from a highly reputed global university .
• Strong and sustained publication record in top-tier, peer-reviewed outlets .
• Demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding.
• Proven experience supervising doctoral research.

Preferred

• International research experience and global scholarly networks.
• Experience leading research centers, labs, or large collaborative projects.
• Evidence of research impact beyond academia (policy, industry, society).
