Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Technical Manager Quality Engineering & Development to lead enterprise-wide testing initiatives while managing development teams across global applications. This role requires a strong development-quality mindset with hands-on expertise in DevOps, test automation, performance engineering, and modern software delivery practices.

The ideal candidate will collaborate across Architecture, Development, Operations, QA, and Business stakeholders to establish a best-in-class Quality Engineering strategy that ensures high-quality, scalable, and reliable releases. In addition, this role will drive development best practices, governance standards, and consistent execution across teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Engineering & DevOps Leadership

  • Define and implement enterprise-wide test automation and performance testing strategies.
  • Integrate automation and performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
  • Establish and enforce quality gates within the development lifecycle.
  • Drive shift-left testing practices and ensure early engagement in SDLC.
  • Design and monitor dashboards, KPIs, and quality metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure lower environments stability and proper test data management.

2. Development Team Management

  • Lead and manage cross-functional development teams.
  • Ensure adherence to development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
  • Drive on-time delivery and accountability for commitments.
  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Support Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.

3. Automation & Performance Testing

  • Implement and optimize automation frameworks using tools such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber (Gherkin)
  • JMeter, LoadRunner
  • Postman
  • Lead performance engineering efforts for scalable enterprise applications.
  • Validate release acceptance criteria across UAT and release governance processes.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Scrum Masters for resource planning and reporting.
  • Align with Architecture and Operations teams to ensure deployment and performance readiness.
  • Present quality metrics and strategic insights to leadership.

5. Vendor & Offshore Team Management

  • Manage blended teams consisting of internal employees and vendor partners (onsite & offshore).
  • Establish performance benchmarks and accountability measures for vendor teams.
  • Drive quality improvements across distributed delivery models.

6. Leadership & Culture

  • Foster an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture.
  • Inspire innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Challenge legacy processes and introduce modern quality engineering practices.
  • Ensure consistency in execution across global programs.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with strong programming background.
  • 4+ years in a Lead or Managerial role.
  • 4+ years of experience across SDLC models (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • 4+ years experience testing web-based, multi-tier applications.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Azure DevOps deployment pipelines
  • Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Gherkin
  • JMeter, LoadRunner
  • Postman
  • 2+ years experience defining and analyzing software quality metrics.
  • 3+ years development and management experience in Salesforce.
  • Strong experience in CI/CD integration and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years Salesforce development and management experience.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics.
  • Certifications such as:
  • CSQA
  • ISTQB
  • Masters Degree (MS/MA) preferred.
