QA Engineer API Automation & Performance

Overview:

We are seeking a QA Engineer to join our Integrations team and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our enterprise-wide GraphQL API layer . This role focuses on building robust automation frameworks , implementing telemetry and monitoring solutions , and driving performance testing across our API ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in test automation, API validation, and performance analysis, along with a passion for improving developer experience and system observability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated test suites for GraphQL and REST APIs to validate functionality, reliability, and security.
• Develop performance and load testing strategies to ensure API scalability under enterprise workloads.
• Implement telemetry and monitoring solutions to track API health, latency, and error rates.
• Collaborate with developers and platform engineers to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable insights to improve API performance.
• Contribute to quality standards and best practices for API development and integration.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with business requirements and integration goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in QA engineering or software testing, with a focus on APIs.
• Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks , including Playwright , and Postman .
• Experience testing GraphQL and REST APIs .
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript for writing automated tests.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling).
• Knowledge of telemetry and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
• Ability to analyze complex systems and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms and large-scale API ecosystems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of security testing for APIs (authentication, authorization, vulnerability scanning).
