Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is looking for an exceptional individual to join the Index Engineering team in Mumbai. The goals and responsibilities of the team include the development of the MSCI Index Calculation & Delivery Platform.

The group is part of MSCI's Global Technology organization and works closely with other engineering, research, product management and client coverage teams to implement the engineering agenda and benefit from the substantial resources and expertise available within the global MSCI organization.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Development of Python modules for MSCI’s Index Calculation and Delivery Engine, using state of the art technologies and techniques (python, numpy, pandas and the associated tools)
• Involvement in developing incremental deployment units (such as additional data points and algorithmic components) within an existing framework and contribution to their post-deployment support

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• Bachelor / graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, quantitative finance or other highly quantitative subject
• 12+ years of experience in software and algorithm development, data scientist / data engineer background is a plus
• Excellent programming skills, experience in the Python ecosystem
• Ability to drive complex initiatives end-to-end
• Experience with Java is a strong plus
• Experience in library development and API design
• Experience mentoring others
• Good knowledge of DevOps practices (version control systems, testing, continuous integration and delivery, containers), Linux command line, system administration basics is a plus
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development
