Backend Engineer - Team Lead

Location: Bangalore | Experience: 5-8 years | Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership

Lead backend architecture and development using Python and Django

Design high-level system architectures focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability

Review code and enforce best practices for clean, maintainable, and secure code

Mentor and guide backend engineers; provide technical direction and feedback

Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Backend & System Design

Design and implement REST APIs

Build scalable services capable of handling high throughput and large datasets

Optimize application performance, database queries, and system bottlenecks

Design fault-tolerant, resilient backend systems

Experience designing multi-tenant architectures (logical or physical isolation)

DevOps & Infrastructure

Work closely with DevOps on deployment, monitoring, and scalability

Hands-on experience with: CI/CD pipelines Docker and containerized applications Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

Understand production monitoring, logging, and alerting Required Skills & Qualifications Must Have

58 years of backend development experience

Strong expertise in Python and Django / Django REST Framework

Solid understanding of: RESTful API design Relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) ORM performance optimization

Proven experience designing scalable, high-performance backend systems

Strong system design and architecture skills

Experience leading or mentoring engineers

Understanding of security best practices (auth, authorization, data protection)

Good to Have

Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures

Experience with async frameworks (Celery, Redis, Kafka, etc.)

Knowledge of microservices architecture

Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
