Summary of the Role: Amadeus Hospitality is looking for a Product Owner, who will be responsible for working with Product Management and R&D teams to create specifications and, if needed, wireframes for new product features. The person should have strong technical analysis and solution design skills.
Job Qualification:
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
Relevant Work Experience: 7-11 years of experience in a software engineering/product owner role working in a distributed product development environment
Business Understanding: Experience with Hospitality is a plus. Experience with Agile, Kanban, or Scrum. SAFe experience with certification(s) is a plus
Experience writing and modeling use cases and user stories in a SAFe model
Experience with Backlog management tools like MFST TFS , JIRA etc.
Technical Skills:
Good working knowledge working with API, Business logic layer & Integration projects (JSON and JSON API, web services, XML, XML API, XML SCHEMA, Swagger,).
Familiarity with cloud and back-end application infrastructure. Understanding of DEVOPS, Telemetry, Security, and CI/CD.
Strong business analysis skills .
Ability to handle ambiguous situations and bring clarity to product features. Strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Writing user stories and use cases in “Agile SAFe framework”, conducting workshops with product management, development team, testing team, and customers to elicit detailed requirements. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Prior experience working with product management to prioritize roadmap items for delivery
Languages: Excellent command of English, oral and written
Product Owner Skills:
Demonstrates Ownership of Intended Business Outcomes for Products and Components
Transforms the high-level vision of the Product Manager, System Architect and Solution Designer into detailed requirements, working closely with a range of stakeholders to achieve the desired business outcome.
Identification of work breakdown structure: Collaborates with epic owner, solution designer and subject matter experts (SMEs) to decompose epics into features.
Leads the feature refinement process (collaborates with product/component SMEs to develop and prioritize feature backlog)
Ensures completeness of feature description and acceptance criteria
Guides the sequencing of features during refinement to achieve the desired business outcome
Effective presentation of feature business outcome and acceptance criteria feature during ART refinement ceremony
Drives the Execution and Delivery of Product Roadmap
Drives toward successful implementation of the product backlog to realization of intended business value
Collaboration with ART stakeholders, Product Management and Product Owners to fully understand, and achieve successful delivery of, the product roadmap
Ensures that realization of the Product and Architecture intent is reflected in prioritization of feature backlog
Prioritizes customer feedback and customer intimacy items during implementation
Self-Driven: Ability to Work Independently with Minimal Guidance
Works with a moderate level of guidance and direction from manager and SMEs and PO Leads
Demonstrates self-motivation and independent analysis skills required to formulate solutions to product or process challenges
Proactive in reaching out for feedback rather than waiting for others to provide it
Able to make informed product- decisions with minimal reliance upon other subject matter experts or stakeholders
Effectively prioritizes time to successfully complete multiple deliverables and action items within expected timeframes
Maintains the Requisite Functional and Technical Product Knowledge
Clearly articulates the vision and goals for 'owned' products
Is proactive in obtaining and maintaining subject matter expertise of 'owned' products
Maintains a clear understanding of the hospitality marketplace and competitive forces as it pertains to 'owned' products
Maintains a clear understanding of user personas and use cases to fully understand how end-users interact with the solution and make key decisions that contribute to product value
Can clearly articulate how 'owned' product feature functionality works to others

Able to transform concepts and ideas into clearly articulated acceptance criteria (in the form of documentation and TFS backlog items) and supporting artifacts (eg sequence diagrams) that facilitates clear and intended business outcomes
Conversely, can identify and work to clarify unclear or untrue requirements found in documentation and TFS backlog items created as part of the development process
Makes data-driven decisions by identifying and verifying relevant data, analyzing it for trends and insights, weighing options and outcomes, then acting with confidence while continuously monitoring impact
Exhibits Proactive and Effective Collaboration/Communication with Team Members, Scrum Masters, Stakeholders, Business Owners and Architects
Collaborates effectively with members of the development team, ART stakeholders as well as those outside of the E&T organization (eg Security, Operations, Services, Support, Sales, etc.)
Facilitates alignment and proactive communication with members of the development team, ART stakeholders and those outside of the E&T organization
Able to clearly articulate the strategic vision and intended business outcomes for their product during meetings and presentations
Effectively translates technical jargon into language that non-technical team members and stakeholders can understand
Demonstrates active listening (listen attentively) to team members and stakeholders in order to gain feedback and understand challenges to be overcome
Provides clear and timely updates to stakeholders as necessary when implementation challenges and/or Production incidents occur
Ability to transform the vision of Product and Architecture into detailed feature and user story requirements
Responds positively to constructive feedback provided by stakeholders which, in certain circumstances, may require a quick and efficient change of course to adapt to the needs of the ART
Ensures alignment of product vision and backlog prioritization with the ART Business Owners, System Architect, Product team as observed and evaluated through iterative feedback received from product managers and ART stakeholders throughout the year
