Job Description

Senior Product Designer

Location: Chennai, India

Reports to: Product Design Manager

About AssetPlus

AssetPlus is redefining the future of wealth management. We're a fast-scaling

SaaS fintech platform powering mutual fund distributors MFDs and financial

advisors with cutting-edge tools to transform how investments are managed. Our

mission is to build India's best assisted wealth management platform, empowering

advisors to help millions of households achieve their financial goals.

The Role

This is a high-ownership position for a designer who can operate independently

while staying closely aligned with product. You'll design across web and mobile

for the full spectrum of our users: the MFDs who run their businesses on our

platform, the end investors they serve, and internal operations teams.

We're not a greenfield product. AssetPlus has real scale, real users, and real

complexity, including legacy screens that need thoughtful redesign. You'll inherit a

partial design system and be expected to evolve it. You'll conduct your own user

research. You'll work with significant autonomy, with a sync reviews rather than

constant check-ins.

If you need detailed specs handed to you or find messy problems frustrating

rather than interesting, this isn't the right fit. If you have high agency, care deeply

about craft, and can ship without sacrificing quality, keep reading.

Core Responsibilities

End-to-End Product Design

  • Own design from research through implementation for your product areas:
  • discovery, ideation, prototyping, specs, and QA.Senior Product Designer1
  • Design for complexity: transaction flows, data-heavy dashboards, multi-step
  • workflows, and tools MFDs use daily to manage crores in AUM.
  • Work across platforms - web and mobile; with an eye for platform-appropriate
  • patterns.

Design System Stewardship

  • Contribute to and expand our existing design system, improving consistency
  • and velocity across the product.
  • Identify patterns worth systematizing; build components that scale.

Research & User Understanding

  • Conduct your own user research when needed. We don't have a dedicated
  • research team.
  • Develop a working understanding of the MFD ecosystem, regulatory context,
  • and how our users think about their work.

Collaboration & Craft

  • Partner closely with your PM to shape what gets built, not just how it looks.
  • Prototype interactions to communicate intent clearly. Static mocks aren't
  • enough.
  • Maintain high craft standards while shipping at the pace the business requires.

What Makes You a Fit

Proven Product Design Experience

Around 4-6 years designing digital products, though we care more about the work

than the number. You've shipped real products, navigated constraints, and learned

from what didn't work.

High Agency & Ownership

You figure things out. You ask the right questions, move work forward without

waiting for detailed specs, and take responsibility for outcomes. Not just outputs.

Comfort with Complexity

B2B products, dense information, multiple user types. You don't need fintech

experience specifically, but you shouldn't be intimidated by domain learning

curves or regulatory nuance.

Craft + Speed

You care about the details but know when to ship. Neither pixel-perfect-but-slow

nor fast-but-sloppy works here. You find the balance.

Tool Fluency

Strong Figma skills and the ability to prototype interactions using Code, Origami

Studio etc (choice is yours). You communicate design intent through motion when

it matters.

Receptiveness to Feedback

You'll get direct notes on your work. We expect you to engage with feedback

constructively, not defensively.

What Success Looks Like

In 1 Month

  • You've onboarded to our product, users, and domain. You understand how
  • MFDs work and why our product matters to them.
  • You've shipped your first small project and established a working rhythm with
  • your PM.
  • You've audited part of the design system and identified immediate
  • opportunities.

In 3 Months

  • You're independently owning design for a product area, with minimal
  • oversight.
  • You've contributed meaningful improvements to the design system.
  • Your work is shipping, and you're iterating based on feedback and usage.

In 6 Months

  • You're a trusted partner to your product pod, shaping what gets built, not just
  • executing.
  • The areas you own show visible improvement in coherence, usability, and
  • craft.
  • You're conducting research that informs road map decisions
