Senior Procurement Specialist-MEP Construction

Familiarity with materials used in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Fighting is an essential requirement.

Position : Procurement Specialist MEP Projects

Location: Bengaluru, Vadodara, Sambhaji Nagar, Chennai

Reports to: Procurement Manager

Role Overview The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) projects.

This includes sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

• Identify, source, and evaluate suppliers/vendors for MEP-related materials and equipment.
• Send RFQs to vendors.
• Prepare Vendor Comparisons
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chain support.

Project Coordination

• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and the Planning team to understand material requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays.
• Track delivery and receipt of material and accompanying compliance documents.

Documentation & Compliance

• Create purchase orders
• Share approved PO with Vendors

Cost & Inventory Management

• Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and material availability.
• Support cost control by identifying opportunities for savings and optimizing procurement processes.
• Coordinate with the stores/warehouse team to track stock levels and avoid overstocking/shortages.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and vendors.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (preferred).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or related field.
• 25 years of procurement experience in the construction / contracting industry, preferably with MEP projects.
• Knowledge of local and international suppliers, import/export processes is an advantage.
