Job Description
About the Company-
The organisation enables young Indians to pursue high-impact, purpose-driven careers in nation
building. It believes in the power of young generation to drive collective change and provides young
professionals with the platform to create societal impact. Nation Building drives interventions to
address the most pressing challenges affecting India across priority themes, with sports and
health among its focus areas.
About the preventive healthcare vertical
Non-communicable diseases cause the highest number of premature deaths globally. India, too,
faces a rising burden of non-communicable and preventable diseases driven by modifiable risk
factors. However, the current systemic approach focuses on treatment and management rather
than prevention.
The preventive healthcare vertical aims to shift the paradigm and change the way health is
currently addressed in India; the focus should not be restricted to how long Indians live, but also
how well they live, with deliberate emphasis on early-life preventive interventions. With this vision,
we are focused on bringing the spotlight to preventive public health in India, aiming to improve the environment of state interventions and public health communications to influence individual
health and behaviour at scale. If this excites you, we invite you to join our dynamic team and
contribute to the audacious goal.
About the Role
You will join the preventive public healthcare vertical of the governance and policy team to build
scientifically rooted, evidence-based content optimised to drive discussions and solutions both
internally and with stakeholders. Your role will largely focus on the following areas, with a scope of
expanding responsibilities based on performance, willingness and rigour.
Stress testing and validation of research insights: You will be responsible for conducting
rigorous research, developing context-specific hypotheses, stress-testing them for validation
by triangulating evidence across sources, and assessing the real-world applicability within
Indias public health policy context. The goal will be to ensure that insights are scientifically
sound, medically feasible, and decision-ready for policy formulation and advocacy.
Tracking of domain-specific developments: You will be required to continuously track and
synthesise developments across medical science, public health and policy discourse to stay
updated on the emerging research as well as real-world health and policy decisions. This
includes proactively flagging emerging evidence, paradigm shifts, and regulatory or
programmatic changes relevant to healthcare.
Networking with relevant domain professionals: You will be required to actively build and
sustain relationships with top medical practitioners, health researchers, public health experts,
academicians, health administrators and allied professionals to strengthen the quality,
relevance, and credibility of policy recommendations. These engagements will be leveraged to
ground research in field realities and expert consensus, and push the agenda of on-ground,
real-world impact.
Building institutional knowledge on subject matters: You will anchor institutional memory by
codifying medical and public health knowledge into structured repositories, frameworks, and
reference materials. This will enable continuity, elevate the organisations long-term technical
depth in preventive health policy, and ensure a long-lasting footprint of your work.
Training of generalist team members: You will be responsible for training and mentoring
generalist policy team members from non-medical backgrounds by translating complex
scientific concepts into accessible insights for building overall team capability. This includes
building shared understanding and enabling non-medical colleagues to engage confidently on
health topics.
Client interaction and communication: You will directly engage with clients, including
government stakeholders and allied institutions, to present evidence-based insights, explain
technical findings, and support informed policy decision-making. You will tailor communication
to senior policymakers, ensuring clarity, credibility, and strategic alignment.
Public interaction for advocacy: You will support public-facing engagements to advocate for
evidence-based recommendations, including podcasts, publications, workshops, and other
knowledge dissemination forums. You will help translate research into compelling, jargon-free
narratives that drive behavioural and policy change.
The role is ideal for a young practitioner working in the medical or allied domains, seeking to
pivot to the health policy and advocacy space, with the intent of reshaping how individual
health is regarded, addressed and governed in India.
