Business & Team:
Institutional Banking Data Platform (IDP) is state-of-the-art cloud platform engineered to streamline data ingestion, transformation and data distribution workflows that underpin Regulatory Reporting, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Quants and Trader Surveillance.
In your role as Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability of the platform, performing maintenance and support activities, and driving innovative process improvements that add significant business value.
Impact & Contribution:
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the team, working within a cross-functional squad responsible for the technical design, development, and rollout of CTC customer experiences through CBA’s CommBiz 2.0. We are looking for someone to join our team who is passionate about creating transformative digital experiences who thrives in a collaborative environment and is constantly pushing the boundaries to help deliver outcomes that define future industry trends.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Have hands-on experience in Platform Engineering or a similar role within a DevSecOps environment
Strong experience with scripting/programming in programming languages such as PowerShell, Java, Java Script, Bash, Python, YAML etc.
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline highly regarded.
Experience working with CI/CD & automation tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, CI/CD Pipeline
Are constantly demonstrating strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to debugging and problem-solving.
Experience with Logging and Monitoring tools like Observe/Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana and PagerDuty
Systematic problem-solving approach and proactively continue improving current processes and tools.
Be able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
Have a focus on automation and building efficient systems.
Ability to learn and work with various technologies
Provide application support and maintenance
Essential Skills:
Design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/TeamCity.
Develop and maintain automated infrastructure with a focus on scripting and programming.
Build, deploy, and manage containerised applications using Docker and ECS/EKS Kubernetes.
Optimise AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and scalability.
Automate workflows to improve system efficiency and resilience.
Integration, knowledge of MQs, REST APIs and Kafka.
Good knowledge of RDBMS – Oracle or Postgres.
Software configuration, packaging and deployment/upgrades in different environments.
Ability to interface with wider team of platform and data engineers, Product Owners, Chapter Leads and have good experience in DevOps.
Work in Agile Scrum team with Product owner, to deliver platform engineering tasks and activities in sprints towards application support and maintenance.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
