Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Location: Bangalore

Impact & Contribution:
As a Sr. Platform Engineer , you will be part of the Core Acquiring crew. This role is to focus on operational excellence through the design, build, run, and evolution of foundational tools, infrastructure, and automation of both CBA and partner teams. This spans both internal CBA assets and those managed by key partners. In Core Acquiring crew, this role will influence engineering practices across vendor teams, participate in governance forums, and ensure alignment with the bank’s engineering and operational standards. As a Platform Engineer Lead, you will be part of the Core Acquiring crew. This role is to focus on operational excellence through the design, build, run, and evolution of foundational tools, infrastructure, and automation of both CBA and partner teams. This spans both internal CBA assets and those managed by key partners. In Core Acquiring crew, this role will influence engineering practices across vendor teams, participate in governance forums, and ensure alignment with the bank’s engineering and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve platforms: Develop and maintain reusable infrastructure, templates, and tooling that support application deployment, observability, and operational resilience
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code: automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments
- Collaboration with product teams: Partner with internal and third-party engineers to co-design and operate platforms that improve delivery velocity, quality, and safety.
- Operational support: Participate in on-call rotations and incident response workflows to ensure 24x7 availability of critical services.
- Influence over ownership: Focus on influencing and directing engineering practices across vendor teams to align with the banks and strive for automation, observability, and governance practices.
- Cross-functional governance: Participate in forums such as CAB, Risk & Security, and Service Management to ensure alignment with the bank’s engineering and operational standards.
- Blended responsibilities: Overlap with SRE and Systems Engineering, particularly in areas like observability, DevOps integration, and service reliability.
- Continuous improvement: Perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills:
- 10+ years of industry experience required
- Proven experience in working with engineering and operational teams
- Proven experience in operational engagements required to bring a product to life (e.g. Risk, Security, Incident, Change, Problem, Monitoring, Supplier Governance, Defect Review, Scalability, Automation)
- Experience with third-party integration and vendor management.
- Experience with Cloud/AWS fundamental service (IAM, VPC and EC2)
- Understanding of DevOps/SRE Best Practices: Logging, Monitoring, Security
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Source control, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Monitoring tools such as Observe, Obstack and AppDynamics
- General Networking protocols and architectures
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
